New server including a new data disc (D-disc)
If your server has been completely lost, e.g., due to theft or fire damage then your insurance
cover is responsible for the material damage.
Nevertheless, you will immediately receive a new server and a new
original hard disc with
red markings
. Insert the latest data backup disc into the lower slot and the
new data disc
with the red markings
into the upper slot. Switch on the new server. The server will copy
all of the documents from the data backup disc onto the empty original data disc in the
upper slot. Depending on the volume of data, this process can take a number of hours. Do
not turn off the server. The system will automatically restart a number of times during this
process and is then automatically available for all users.
Be sure that you only have insert
the latest (current data) data backup disc!

on.The serverwill recognize thenewbackupdisc in the lower slot and register it in the system.
At the same time, a complete copy of your data will be saved to this backup disc. Depend-
ing on the volume of data, this process may take a number of hours.
Do not shut down the
server.
The system will then be automatically available for all users.
New data disc (D-disc)
If the data disc (red markings) is defective or is being exchanged for a larger capacity disc,
insert the new, empty data disc with the red markings sent to you by BvL into the upper
slot.
Be sure that you only have insert the latest (current data) data backup disc! You
have insert only one data backup disc.
Switch on the server by pressing the power but-
ton. The system will register the new data disc and automatically copy all of the files from
your backup disc (
lower slot
) onto the data disc (
upper slot
). Depending on the volume
of data, this process can take a number of hours. The process is carried out automatically.
The system will then be automatically available again.
Do not shut down the server under any circumstances
.
In general, all documents and files are immediately saved to both discs – the original data disc (D-disc) and the
online backup disc (E-disc) – during the archiving process.
The system carries out a diverse range of control and administration tasks and disk changing between 00:00 and 03:00.
You should not make any changes, e.g., to passwords or designations during this period of time. The system cannot be
reached for a short period during this time. The system will restart every day at 03:00 and is not accessible for a short pe-
riod. It is not possible to issue a shutdown command during this time.
