xchanging the server
Please call the

in the event of a fault with your BvLArchivio® server.
The hotline staff will immediately attempt to resolve the problem with you. If the fault cannot be resolved on the tele-
phone, you will be immediately sent a new BvLArchivio® server. Should it still be possible at this stage, shut down the
server properly.
New server
You will receive a new BvLArchivio® server in the event of a fault or due to an extension of the rental period.
The replacement of the server after 48 months serves to ensure the fault-free operation of your BvLArchivio® server. Hard-
ware becomes susceptible to defects over time due to heat, dust, and dirt particles and this can lead to a complete system
breakdown. In order to ensure that the BvLArchivio® server always works perfectly, you can completely exchange your old
or current hardware every 48 months for new hardware.
If you have been sent new hardware (new server), please proceed as follows:
Shut down the old server.
Remove the data discs from both of the slots and insert them into the new server.
Ensure that the data disc with the red markings is inserted into the upper slot.
Switch on the new server.
The old server must not be switched on again because the use of both servers simultaneously will result in network
conflicts with the IP addresses.
The old server remains switched off and will be collected by BvL after approx. 2–5 days.
BvL will handle the collection of the old server and will also cover all of the relevant costs.
Use the cardboard box that contained the new server to return the old server!
The new server checks all data discs and is therefore only ready for operation after a few hours. Do not on any ac-
count switch off the server during this time. The server will restart a number of times during this period!

Archive passwords:
All passwords are reset to the default passwords.
HTTP password:
Archiving is possible without a password from the user interface.
FTP password:
Archiving is possible without a password via FTP upload.
Number of search terms:
A maximum of 999 search terms are taken from the first page of the document.
TIF format for scanner:
TIF files are sent for OCR recognition, while TIFF files are not sent.
Serial number:
Archiving without the need to enter your own serial number is possible.

Please check.
