rchiving and searching
PDF,TIF or TIFF files
When you archive a PDF/TIF file, you can also de-
cide in the Business and Premium versions whether
the contents of the first page of the document or all
pages of the document are saved as search terms. In
addition, you can decide whether the PDF file is re-
tained in its original format (recommended for PDF
files containing signatures, certificates, form fields, or
a password*) or whether the PDF/A file (recommend-
ed for long-term archiving) produced by BvLArchivio®
should be saved in the archive.
The file is sent for text recognition and, therefore,
cannot be called up immediately from the archive.
Check that the process has worked correctly. Click on
Archivio 3 and search for your file using the search
terms that you just entered and then click on the rel-
evant line in the results. The file that you just saved
should now open. Every file that is saved to the ar-
chive will receive its own, unique and new file name
issued by BvLArchivio®. If you save an identical file
twice, two different file names are created by
BvLArchivio®. You can retrieve the file at a later date
by searching for the search terms that you entered when saving the file.
Files larger than 16 MBytes must be uploaded via FTP (see page 19).
*Password:
If a PDF file is protected by a password then you need to enter the password in the text field
so that the text recognition function can open the PDF file. The password (e.g., 12345) must be entered as follows:
%passwort%12345%/passwort%
